A Radio Controlled nitro car is fast and great fun to drive. One of the main advantages over an electric model is the noise, smell of the nitro fuel and having to actual tweak the engine to get maximum efficiency out of it. A nitro rc car can be purchased in kit form or RTR (Ready to Run). Most of the models now a days do come RTR which are pre built and normally include radio gear with the model. All you need to get your nitro rc car up and running is a rc nitro car starter kit and some nitro fuel.
With all new models we always advice you to run a good five to six full tanks of fuel through the engine before you lean the carburetor out to make the nitro rc car go faster. Keeping the fuel mix rich, plenty of smoke coming out of the exhaust allows the new engine to fully run in and be well lubricated by the fuel. Once you have done this you can lean it off so the exhaust smoke will reduce and the model will go faster.
A Radio Controlled nitro car can come in different sizes with the most popular size being 1/10th scale. With this scale you can also choose hundreds of different bodyshells to fit it to make it look like a real road car. Some of the faster models are used for racing but these models are normally kit builds and you need to include the engine, radio and other items to finish the complete model.
