Tamiya and Tamiya radio controlled cars is probably the most well known and most popular brand in the RC world. Tamiya Incorporate are Japanese manufacturers of radio controlled cars, model paints, plastic model kits and much more. Today, they offer over 300 different products and Tamiya is sold worldwide. Tamiya radio controlled cars have been re-released from their early days. Models include the Tamiya Wild Willy and the Tamiya Grasshopper. They are continually bringing back timeless classics in their RC models. Tamiya RC cars come in kits to build yourself or RTR ready to run. Tamiya has an extensive range of RC cars and vehicles and they can provide a fulfilling building experience. Tamiya RC cars are completely realistic and great fun to build and run. The first RC car to be released by Tamiya was the Porsche 934 in 1976. This Tamiya RC car was a massive hit and sold over 100,000 models in a year. Other 1/12 scale Tamiya models included the Lamborghini Countach, Porsche 959 and the Can-Am Lola. 1/10 scale Tamiya radio controlled cars included the Williams FW07, the Brat and the Frog. The Grasshopper was released in 1984. It was a very rugged two wheel drive off road RC buggy. The Grasshopper Tamiya RC buggy was re-released in 2005 with only a few alterations and proved to be a big favourite. Vanessa’s Lunchbox and the Midnight Pumpkin are today still very popular Tamiya kits todate with the Lunchbox being Tamiya’s best selling mode.
